This week, Moscow will see the renowned Gaidar Forum 2019 kick off, which is traditionally organized at the beginning of the year by the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA). The forum is attended by numerous prominent scientists, business people, entrepreneurs, decision-makers, representatives of the authorities, politicians, and public figures from many countries and international institutions. Mr. Sergey Myasoedov, Dean of the Moscow Institute of Business Studies, invited the President of the PanSlovenian Sharehodlers` & Investors` Association (VZMD) Mr. Kristjan Verbič to attend the three-day event, where he will take the opportunity to further strengthen his business connections and cooperation with other attending business representatives.
In the past, the VZMD played an active role in organizing the resounding Slovene-Russian Investors' Conference in Moscow (VIDEO), on the occasion of the Slovenian Prime Minister’s visit to the President of the Russian Federation in December 2013, as part of the business delegation accompanying the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia on his visit to the Russian Federation in October 2013, and as part of the business delegation to Yaroslavl (VIDEO) in September 2014. In parallel with the intensive official program, Mr. Verbič will also take part in some other meetings.
At the Gaidar Forum, which is considered to be the Russian Davos in Russia, Mr. Verbič will also take the opportunity to properly present the international business-investor programs of the VZMD: Invest to Slovenia - investo.si and International Investors' Network – invest-to.net.
After Moscow, Mr. Verbič will visit Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, where he will attend the grand opening of the first regional World Business Angels Investment Forum office (WBAF) in the EU, opened by this prominent international organization in the premises of the historical Bračak Chateau. The grand event will be attended by the most important representatives of the Croatian authorities and business sphere, and other important representatives from the region and beyond.
The WBAF Chairman, Mr. Baybars Altuntas, who in the past established excellent collaboration with the VZMD on various levels, personally invited Mr. Verbič to attend the ceremony. The VZMD collaborated with Mr. Altuntas at the 2013 European Business Angel Network Congress (VIDEO) in Vienna, on the occasion of co-organizing the 2014 European Business Angels Investment Forum in Istanbul (VIDEO), by actively participating in the 2015 business angels delegation to Albania, Kosovo, and Macedonia (VIDEO), and at a number of other conferences and meetings in Helsinki in 2014, in Eindhoven in 2015, and in Malaga in 2017.
The main ceremony will be followed by a formal reception by the President of the Republic of Croatia, Ms. Kolinda Grabar Kitarović, and a round table of the ministers discussing the development of global cooperation to enable financial inclusion and facilitate startups and fast-growing SMEs' access to international finances. At the round table, the views will be shared by the Minister of Development of the Republic of Ghana, Mr. Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Awal, the Minster of Innovation of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Besim Beqaj, the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Crafts of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Darko Horvat, and the Minister of Regulations for Improvement of the Investment Climate for Domestic Companies of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Zoran Sapuric.
