In Stockholm today, at the premises of the local NASDAQ stock exchange OMX, the General meeting of the European Federation of Investors and Financial Services Users (Better Finance), takes place immediately after the last meeting of the current members of the Executive Board of Better Finance. The important voting General meeting has elected a new Executive Board of this influential European association, where the representative of Slovenia, the VZMD President, Mr. Kristjan Verbič was elected for the third term.
As many as 14 highest representatives of national organizations of shareholders and investors from Austria, Denmark, France, Iceland, Luxembourg, Germany, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Great Britain stood for election.
Mr. Verbič arrived in Stockholm late last night immediately after the conference of the German sister association, Der Bund der Versicherten (BdV), in Berlin.
The event will continue with the international conference marked by the 50th anniversary of the Swedish shareholders' association (Aktiespararna) and will end up with the ceremonial closing bell ring at the NASDAQ. In the evening, the VZMD President will also attend the gala reception and dinner, as well as tomorrow's presentation of the Aktiespararna association and many other celebrations in the wake of the important anniversary of the Swedish sister association.
As part of the events at the conference, the attendees will also this time discuss about the development of the procedures related to the "Volkswagen scandal", which also will be attended by the highest representatives of the World Federation of Investors (WFI) and the International Financial Litigation Network (IFLN). The topics will most probably also entailed the cases of the cancellation of shares and bonds of Slovenian banks, which was reiterated in the Better Finance's press release exactly yesterday
